Quite well. There are certainly areas in physics that rely more or less on other fields. For example, theoretical physics obviously uses many tools from pure mathematics and physical chemistry combines concepts between physics and chemistry. In these cases, it is definitely helpful to have training in both disciplines but the physics concepts that you learn as a physics major are key to understanding the research problems that you encounter as a research intern.
