Special Education Teacher at Macomb Intermediate School District

The MISD oversees nearly 30 schools, so my day in the life would be vastly different than many other teachers throughout the district. However, I would say that at the MISD, unlike at many other districts, morale is high. The MISD pays their teachers well, and they reach a new step annual. Many other surrounding districts were on a pay-freeze for years, and they also added half-steps to their pay increases. I've heard of surrounding districts doing half-steps and even third-steps.
I feel very supported by my administrators. I feel safe and comfortable. When I do something special, like make a video for the school, or create a game for the school, or do anything above and beyond, they are incredible about showing their gratitude and paying compliments. I have thoroughly enjoyed my short career within the MISD.
