Former Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Corban University
over 2 years ago
I made sure I fully understood the goal and mission of the university and specifically the math department. I also wanted to make sure I understood the role of the class in the bigger picture of the college. Corban produces a lot of elementary education majors, meaning college algebra is often more of a final graduation requirement than a prerequisite for further work in STEM. And I read up on any publications from the math department, not just research and papers, but media and public relations as well.
Then I just made sure I was knowledgable in what I would teach and modern pedagogical approaches to it.
