To initially prepare for an interview opportunity, you will need to set up a profile at irondistrict.org. Make sure that you have a current resume and cover letter uploaded to your profile as well as taking the online questionnaire that they have so that when jobs are posted, you can apply easily. The things that are required for a Teaching Assistant is to take or have taken the Praxis ParaPro test with a passing score of 460 or higher OR 48 semester hours. Proof of both will need to be documented and uploaded to your profile . These are things that will be submitted directly to the school that you are applying to work at and the principal will have it during the interview.
It is important to dress professionally because they do notice what you wear. Usually there are several people in the interview, each one will ask you a question about experience, your long term goals and why you think that you would be a good candidate. They may also ask you how you would handle specific situations, to try to think of some questions and answers beforehand so that you are prepared. They love a fun personality, so try to relax if you can and enjoy the experience!
