So many!! I met and spoke with the CEO in a private intern roundtable (Satya's hilarious and so, so wise), went on a private boat cruise with our Chief Marketing Officer, helped plan and then sat front row at a speaker event with Al Gore, wrote a company blog post publicly endorsed on LinkedIn by company executives in my first week, got a free Xbox and saw the Chainsmokers and Daya at the Intern Signature Event (this is an annual private concert just for interns!!), pretended to be a gamer for a day and live streamed Lego Batman on Xbox's official Twitch/Mixer channels... Basically, Microsoft REALLY knows how to take care of their interns.
The most memorable parts of the internship were probably the bigger corporate functions and celebrations. We had a big town hall halfway through the summer with the entire Consumer Products Division. All of the General Managers spoke as well as the head of CPD and CEO of North America. It was really interesting to learn about what was happening across the division in other brands. We also had a big intern event that was pretty over-the-top and memorable.
The most memorable thing was a surprise intern trip to a safari hosted by our intern leads. Google makes a huge effort to make the internship experience one that is enjoyable and fun for all interns. They truly care about us all bonding and experiencing life together, and that was just another example of how they really follow through on that goal. It was an amazing surprise and such a fun trip!
One Friday a few weeks into the summer, all the interns headed to Uptown in Dallas after work to participate in a scavenger hunt. We got to explore all of Dallas and bond with our fellow interns. Following this, there was a surprise concert to see Pitbull & Enrique in a suite! It was pretty awesome.
