My training was a little different. I was working inside Best Buy for two years with a focus on Apple products. So when I got the job it was a smoother transition. However there’s a standard employee training in Cupertino about the company. Then I got hands on training with another Sales Specialist in another store for a weekend. Someone with no prior experience would probably also have an ASC (basically a full time sales specialist with more managerial responsibilities) or a LASC (same idea as an ASC but covers multiple stores work with you for a few days before you’re on your own. There’s also a ton of training videos available at your finger tips with Apple that they encourage you to go through on paid time.
The training was about 2-3 weeks and consisted of classroom style lectures, as well as in-store shadowing. The first weekend will be “out of store” which is the classroom style. Then the rest will be in-store, shadowing and reverse shadowing. Feels long but there are so many products and processes so it’s really important to pay attention during the training.
