Soloist/Section Leader at Zion Lutheran Church

Rehearsals are every Thursday in the evenings and performances/services are Sunday's. Rehearsals run usually about 2 hours with no break though you will not be singing the whole time. On Sunday's, the services are 8 and 9am. The choir does not perform every week at both services, usually just the 9am. As a soloist, you will sing a solo and cantor both services about once a month (depending on how many section leaders there are that year.) Cantor material is given to you at the Thursday rehearsal before the service on Sunday. I personally suggest looking over it if your sight reading skills are not strong as the congregation will NOT sing with you and you are miked. The solo piece must fit the theme of the service and you will rehearse with the accompanist on the Thursday before as well.
