I know it often varies, but I'd like to know what kind of daily work an undergrad research assistant might do at Kansas State University?

Research Assistant at Kansas State University

I perform computational research, so most of my work consists of programming and modeling. I have previously developed a model of the K-State reactor core using Monte Carlo methods, and I'm currently working on developing a model to calculate human cancer risk estimates from low-dose radiation. However, one of my friends is involved with experimental research, so he does a lot more physical measurements and he gets to work with his hands more. If you know you'd prefer one or the other, the first question I'd ask a professor before joining his research team is if he primarily does computational or experimental work.
