Some of the most important aspects to look for in a bank teller is someone who is detail oriented and organized. There are so many minute rules that must be followed at the bank and it is impossible for someone who is messy and careless to balance each day or process transactions that abide by all of the bank regulations. The work that a bank teller does is not very difficult and is easy for anyone to learn how to handle cash, but it is more difficult for someone who is sloppy to learn how to be clean. I would say it is more important to choose someone with the work ethic and personality necessary for the job over someone who has experience. The only type of experience you would find elsewhere that would be relevant to the job is cash handling and customer service.

Professionalism. Dress appropriately for a Job at that location. Customer Service skills. Stressors while interacting with customers, and how to negotiate with them.
