First of all, a Paraprofessional is someone who works with children who have autism and is based upon the spectrum level. A Paraprofessional assists the lead teacher in the classroom by working on behaviors that a child might exhibit and redirect them to a more positive behavior. It is wise to have had some experience working in a classroom, as well as, with children who have autism. You might be asked about any previous experience in or around a classroom and a school. You might also be asked to take a test based on skills, knowledge, and requirements to work with children of autism. It is best to review job requirements and base answers and possible questions off of what the position asks of you.
