As a pharmacy intern you will be expected to do both intern and technician work. During summer/winter breaks you will be expected to work 30-40 hours/week and during the school year you will be scheduled to work about once a month. The training process takes about 2-3 months and it includes every type of shift the pharmacy technicians work, including 3rd shift, weekend shifts, the IV room shifts, and the Omnicell shifts. As an intern, the majority of what you do will be counseling patients on warfarin so you are expected to act and dress professionally. However, until you are through your 1st semester of pharmacy school you won't be doing a lot of counseling but rather technician work.
