I worked in both the floors helping nurses and in the pharmacy. On the floors, a normal shift starts by doing rounds of the patients and asking them if they needed any help or if there was anything you can provide them with: magazine, water, ice chips, etc. After that I helped the nurses with paper work they needed filed or any other help. In the pharmacy, I would sift through the returns to put back on shelves or to properly discard the expirations. I would work on refilling returned crash carts and delivering them back when they were verified by the pharmacist. I would also help unpack the IV deliveries and place them in the shelves.
