Former Undergraduate Researcher at Kansas State University
almost 2 years ago
I worked typically 9-5, and the first hour was spent in a seminar, workshop, or lecture. I would usually either meet with my supervising professor or grad student, or get to work on whatever part of the problem I was trying to solve. I was doing theoretical biophysics research, so a lot of my work was deriving equations (paper or pencil!), simplifying those results with Mathematica, and working out numerical approximations of those theoretical results. Some days we would have group meetings, either in my research group or with my REU group, during which I would present my research.
