Former Facilities Engineering Intern at Boeing

As a facilities engineer intern I was focused heavily on HVAC systems regarding topics such as heat transfer, fluids, and thermodynamics. Being familiar with the material made projects much clearer, however there was always another employee/supervisor there to answer and explain any questions. Skills should include being proficient at CAD software and writing up statements of work. I had to learn AutoCAD while there but knowing Creo beforehand made the transition easy. A statement of work details everything that needs to be completed on a project. It is also used for bidding out jobs to contractors so it is important they understand exactly what is the work at hand. The job involved a lot of interpersonal communication as you are required to oversee multiple departments (such as finance, engineering, scheduling, contractor, etc) and be able to tell them what needs to be done when and by whom.
