For a technology analyst the interviewers are looking if the candidate has the basic technicals skills - Java, SQL etc. They are trying to find a good fit for the company, looking for the willing ness to work hard and ability to abide by the Barclays Values : R I S E S ( check the company website for more info). One must highlight on previous experiences that exhibit these values.

In terms of interviewing, for the most part this means being able to have a conversation about what is happening in the financial world (very broadly). They want to know that when things get tough, your passion for this area and your high achieving personality will keep you going. So try to read the Wall Street Journal somewhat regularly, and/or have an opinion on a couple public companies and what you think their futures might look like. Also, be able to speak towards experiences that were challenging and you might have been in a leadership role. Leadership skills will be attractive to any employer.
