Some qualities that I found were important during my time there would be understanding basic financial terms and offerings, customer/client skills - understanding that you are dealing with important subjects (money) to these clients and it shouldn’t be taken lightly wether that be in person or on the phone, basic understandings of excel and other Microsoft programs, a sense of urgency , and the ability to work as part of a team or individually.

Know what’s going on in the markets and any macroeconomic trends. This is useful information for any financial services job that you are applying for. Also understand that they are a very client-centric business. Their whole business is based around their clients and finding the right solutions for them based on their needs, wants, and risk tolerance. Think of ways you can contribute to the work that they’re doing by making their job easier.
