I learned a ton while I was working there. Canvassing is actually a hard job - now I feel like I can be a great salesperson anywhere. I also learned more about myself and my own personal strengths and weaknesses. It was a great learning experience.

Working at Clean Water Action gave me a sense of purpose. I knew that the work I was doing, the hard work, was meaningful. I knew I was trying to get good people elected that would forward the mission of a cleaner Michigan and that I was working towards policies I believed in.

I think that working at CWA helped me gain a personal understanding concerning how to talk to people better. We were required to meet numerous strangers every single day, and while that was a bit difficult for me (I have extreme social anxiety), I found that it helped me talk to different people in better ways. I feel that I was able to grow as a speaker and as a canvasser in general while working for CWA. I firmly hope that everyone that works there feels the same way, because I definitely felt like people were there to help you if you ever needed it.

Clean Water Action has the most effective training program I have seen in my entire life. You can become a master of communication and problem solving in social situations in just a few weeks because of the constant experience and extensive training.
