Cast Member at Walt Disney Company

When I get to my work location I clock in and pick up an assignment. Every location has different areas you can get assigned to throughout your shift. I work in attractions so we rotate positions about every 45 minutes. This is to prevent cast members from being outside in the front for too long in the heat and getting practice in each position. It also keeps your day interesting, you are always doing something different. You also get to make magic for guests which is a huge part of being a cast member. You don't have to do anything crazy, just giving a fastpass to a family for their favorite ride could make their day. Like the other day we were down for weather and my co worker started telling jokes over the PA system to the guests waiting out the rain in our line. A little kid suggested a joke and they told it over the speaker and mentioned his name. He was so happy about it, it was so cute. One bad thing is you can get stuck with long shifts, I've been working 10-13 hour shifts lately. Your co workers and friendly guests get you through those long days. You can also pick up shifts at different locations depending on the training you have. I work in attractions now, but could pick up a shift in food and beverage since I'm still trained.
