Prepare your story(s) for the interview in the form of SARs (situation, your action, result) What is your story? …demonstrate your core values in the stories you tell in the interview?
A Senior Solutions Specialist (SSS) is the title given to a practitioner that is typically in one of the US Delivery Centers versus a traditional consultant. An SSS could be one of many roles such as a .NET Developer, Test Lead, or Recruiter. The traditional consultants are core consulting, and progression is a little different. Let me answer for the SSS. First, know your craft. If you are interviewing for an SSS that is a .NET Developer you should have stories that demonstrate you know how to write code in C#, or C++ at a high proficiency. (Senior level). A Senior level practitioner may lead a team, or interface directly with the client. Seniors typically have mentoring/coaching responsibilities for up to 4-6 junior level practitioners. So highlight stories for time management, and people management skills. Finally, all practitioners are expected to perform a certain number of hours in firm contribution activities throughout the year. So, demonstrate in stories how you perform your job and have taken on extra responsibilities.
