A day in the life of a Background actor would start with an early morning call time. Typically a call time can be anywhere from 5am or as late as 11am. This call time means that is the time you are required to show up by, but you should always be 15 minutes early. Then, it is a lot of waiting as they prepare you to go on set. You will be required to go through wardrobe, hair, and makeup in order to be dressed appropriately for the scene. During this time, breakfast is provided with a variety of choices. The exciting part is when you are brought onto set. Actors will be placed in various places around set and potentially doing small actions such as walking from one point to the next. You can even be standing right next to the main actors! The environment on set is quite fun and always interesting because you are able to not only watch a movie as it is filmed but also be a part of it. Time goes by very quickly on set and next thing you know, you are wrapped for the day. Typically a work day is anywhere from 10 to 14 hours.
