As a Summer Associate at MWWPR, I worked mostly on corporate communications for health client accounts. On an average day, you would likely scan the news in the morning for industry news that might be of use to the team and clients, and create a short briefing. Throughout the day, you might be working on a number of tasks, whether it be developing media lists (lists of media contacts who might be interested in interviewing your clients), identifying locations for interviews, or putting together briefing books for your clients to prepare for interviews.

It differs depending on the season. I worked during the summer so we did a lot of prepping for TCA and the Emmys. It's a lot of Excel work, creating or editing grids. You will also be assisting in the press events with the assistants, which means checking people and handing out credentials for media events. I also did desk coverage for the SVP of Media Relations, and also the VP's when the other assistants were on lunch, or not in office. I also assisted for the VP of Communications and set up her files, but this was a unique situation, as she was a new hire, and became sort of my mentor.
