Senior Editor at Thomson Reuters

Thomson Reuters is a good company to start your career with due to the size and scope of the company and that there are positions in news, legal, or tax and accounting areas that may be available at any one time. The company's benefits are fairly generous and I have to say that the folks working in the Tax and Accounting group are a great bunch to work with and are caring and very supportive. If you're looking to apply for a position in legal, accounting, or tax, I would highlight any relevant experience, like writing/editing for newspapers (deadlines are a big part of what we do on a daily basis as we are reporting tax news in my part of the company). If you're seeking out a senior editor type position, I would also highlight any kind of managerial experience you may have, and I would also stress software packages you're familiar and comfortable using (Access/Excel/Powerpoint, advanced editorial tools, product management software, etc., depending on what role you seek).
