Former EF Tours Global Student Leaders Intern at EF Education First
about 2 years ago
For those interested in earning an EF Tours Global Student Leaders Internship it is important that the student clearly demonstrates passion for the subject of the yearly conference. For example, in my year, the conference was focused on human rights, which is a field that I plan on focusing my future career in. I detailed what I wanted to do and, more importantly, why I wanted to do it. I also was sure to talk about projects and activities that I was currently a part of that related to the field of human rights. EF Interns are provided a special opportunity to dive deeper into the subject matter than general attendees, thus they look for people who can truly articulate their passion for the material and demonstrate how important it is to them in their daily lives, not just for a few months at a conference.
Once selected as an intern, there is another round of interviews to determine your role at the conference. These roles include social media or speaker. Whichever one you would like to do, be sure to emphasize traits that highlight your ability to successfully get the task done well. For example, for social media, if you have experience with photography or crafting powerful, short captions/messages but would prefer to stay more behind the scenes, be sure to say that. If you have experience with public speaking or if you are just outgoing enough to try, emphasize these qualities to gain a position as a speaker.
