Former External Affairs Intern at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
about 2 years ago
Like most museums, the culture at the Met is filled with employees who are intellectually engaged, curious and eager. Although much of the staff is artistic as well, to work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is not dictated by one's visual aptitude. As a result, the atmosphere often has a creative edge no matter the workspace. In grant proposal meetings, I often found that conversations easily diverged to that of new art exhibitions across the city, or brainstorming of community engagement in nearby parks. I think this showcases the eclectic interests of the company's employees.
