Prudential Financial to a new national clearinghouse. I spent a lot of time on the phone with clients, assisting them in closing their brokerage and investment accounts and transitioning them to a new software platform. However, traditionally, a Marketing Assistant to a Financial Advisor could do anything from preparing paperwork for clients to advising them on investment vehicles like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Depending on the work of their FA, they might also gain the certification necessary to sell insurance products (property and casualty insurance, like home and auto, or life insurance policies, or anything in between). Throughout all of this work, a high degree of customer service skills are needed, as well as a certain gravitas and persuasiveness…plus a good knowledge of financial concepts, so that you can explain the need for all of these products. That’s where the “marketing” part comes in.
