The most important skills you'll need to succeed are not actually technical, but rather more your attitude and personality. Having a positive attitude will take you very far with Deloitte. They are able to teach you every single skill you need for all of the technical tasks, as long as you are eager to learn with a great attitude and ask questions when you need clarification, you will thrive!

To succeed as an Audit Intern, you need to be a quick learner. They do not expect you to know much, but they do teach you a lot of information quickly. For the first few months of my internship, I felt that I rarely did the same thing twice. There are constantly different projects and assignments that are asked of you, so you need to have an open mind and a good attitude towards new experiences. You should also be organized in order to keep track of all the projects, to-do lists, and questions you have. It is easy to forget about something if you do not have an open list of the things that are on your plate. Analysis is also very important due to the nature of your work. You are trying to assure that financial statements are free of error and reliable for outside users. This calls for an attention to detail.

As an audit intern, it is crucial that you come ready to learn. You will use your basic accounting knowledge, but the company that you work for will really train you on how they work audits and how to use their systems. They do not expect you to come in and know everything there is possible about auditing.

The skills required as an audit intern are to be a quick learner and not be afraid to ask for help, be able to think critically about accounting issues, and organizational skills are imperative.
