Being an Electronics Associate was a good experience for me, but it might not be for everyone. My crew was very helpful and receptive to new ideas, and we operated independently of the store which was great. I was able to shine with my technical expertise and ended up enjoying the job a lot. However, it might be a different case elsewhere; a lackluster crew might lead to a poor overall experience.
I love that I have the chance to make people's day. My store is frequented by a lot of elderly people and I enjoy helping them lift heavy or bulky things, cheering them up, praying for them and making them feel valuable in ways that a lot of young people don't care to. I also enjoy that my boss and coworkers and I are a tightly knit team and we always look out for one another. I feel that my boss knows I an a good employee, so i have quite a bit of freedom and independence in how i do my job, and i hold a position with a lot of responsibility because my boss respects me. If i were able to work there all year round, i know that i would easy be able to advance my career with Walmart as a manager.
I liked the amount of hours that Walmart gave me as a part time worker. I also liked how at Walmart, you are always moving and there is always something for you to do, whether it is setting up a new display, helping a customer, or helping a coworker in a different area. There are those days where there are more disrespectful customers, but my supervisors would help me end the problem as quick as possible.
