I really enjoyed being a project manager at LM primarily because of the structure that we used in the group where I worked. It is difficult to say if this would be typical at all locations, but the project planning was very systematic from the bidding phase through each phase of project execution. Scopes were clearly understood and monthly reporting always involved technical, schedule, and cost with distinct status and clear expectations. Another thing I liked about projects at LM was the fact that we had different teams for planning and operations. At a point in the project, planning was completed and an operational team took over. Unfortunately, the hand-over to operations was often one of my least favorite aspects as perhaps there was too much overlapping before the transition was completed.
