The PhysAssist company culture is one of dedication and responsiveness. People must be willing to work hard to constantly improve, and must be comfortable with receiving constructive feedback. The scribes who work at NCMC answer to their Chief Scribe, who is the only leadership representative who even lives in the state of Colorado. All other interactions with leadership staff are virtual.

The online training and initial on-boarding process are not well organized on PhysAssist's part. Day-to-day in the work setting, you are working independently with a doctor so you do not have much contact with other scribes or the company as a whole. The company reaches out through email to discuss further training, job opportunities or if you have any questions. I would say the company's culture expects you to work hard, independently and diligently. This is not an easy job so you have to be okay with doing hard work solely for experience.

Former ER Medical Scribe, Scribe Ambassador, and Certified Trainer Scribe at PhysAssist Scribes, Inc.

The culture is very location specific. Each scribe will get placed in a different department at a different hospital, and each of the former has it's own culture. I personally worked in pediatrics which has a very positive, friendly work culture. However, the nature of medicine is that it is quick paced and somewhat stressful given the little room for error.
