Former Communications Fellow at Charles Koch Institute
about 2 years ago
I actually think that I found the Koch Communications Fellowship program on Indeed and interviewed via Skype within a few days of applying. The program is one of the few paid communications/public policy internships in DC not for a company and offers opportunities/convections within the Koch network for those well-suited to libertarian organizations. The workshops and training component of the program are for the most part well done and I learned website development and public relations that I have continued to use in my professional life. As someone who does not identify as a strong libertarian and/or conservative, sometimes being in the Koch network wasn’t the best fit but it provided me with highly regarded experience in the DC job market that I am unsure that an unpaid Capitol Hill internship would have offered- especially with the professional training offered by Koch. It’s ok if my response is shared with others, but I would prefer not to have my name attached to it.
