Former Completions and Well Interventions Team Engineering Technician at Shell Oil

I haven't been in this role for some time now, but while I was working as a C&WI Tech I enjoyed the exposure that it gave me to the industry and the opportunity it presented me to return to school and achieve my engineering degree at Pitt. The technician role is an engineering support role. Basically, the intent is to make life easier for the engineers, particularly when they have an operation running in the field, or too many projects on their plate. This requires you to interface with people across all lines of business, and take on tasks that range from scheduling and cost planning, to data entry and engineering program generation. I was in this role for several years (nearly my entire tenure at Pitt), so I also had the opportunity to take on more advanced roles, such as the Water and Logistics Coordinator in support of our hydraulic fracturing operations. This role exposed me to project management and many design engineering projects that are not typical in my industry.
