As an extern I was invited into the marketing department for the day. There, I spent my time meeting with Cornell Alumni from all different sectors of the marketing company. I met with at least 6 different people who spoke to me about their experience at American Express and working in the marketing industry. From spending the day in the office and listening to the Cornell Alumni, I would say that the environment leans heavily towards a strict and corporate feel. Everyone was very welcoming and happy to take time out of their day to spend with me. It is a good fit for someone interested in marketing in a corporate environment--not a laid back advertising type of environment.
