Former Community Economic Empowerment Specialist at Peace Corps

My undergraduate major was International Security and Conflict Resolution (SDSU) and my Master's is in Peace and Justice, so I came in with a very strong understanding of international development, political affairs, global issues, etc. My Master's gave my an extra leg-up so to speak as far as understanding development work and human rights and gave me a good theoretical and practical understanding on a lot of issues. I also had a business background before going into Peace Corps, which helped not only with my work during service, but also helped me to teach some of the other volunteers some skills to take with them to site.
