Former Community Economic Empowerment Specialist at Peace Corps
almost 3 years ago
The interview is, I'm assuming, a little different now than when I did it because Peace Corps changed the application process and now you can pick specifically your country and sector whereas when I applied you couldn't do that. However, the recruiter will want to know concrete examples of how you've overcome difficult situations, how you adapt to different circumstances, your cultural competence, and what kind of specific work and/or study experience you have that you will be able to apply to the CED volunteer position. Acquaint yourself with the goals of Peace Corps, the country you're applying to, and the kinds of projects CED volunteers tend to take on. Have examples of specific skills sets you have and how you'll be able to use them during your service. Also, ask questions! The recruiter is always a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer so you'll be able to speak on their experience as well as what they know about what PC is looking for.
