As a CED volunteer your schedule will likely be largely unregimented. It will be up to you on when and how you do your work. There are many interesting things you can try to work on. You can work closely with your partner organization doing admin stuff – HR, book keeping, that sort of thing. You can also start small projects and write grant proposals to fund them. Things like starting a model farm. You can also do outreaches where you go into the community and work with them on money management. One very successful and relatively easy project for me to fall back on was a Village Savings and Loan Association – essentially, a community fund members can use to invest (like in a model farm!). All of this things will be taught to you when you arrive at you host nation.

Every day is different and what you make it. Many CED volunteers teach entrepreneurship classes, so after having breakfast with your host family, you may be preparing an/or reviewing your coursework in the morning to teach to your class later that day. Or, you may be working with a local entrepreneur in advising their business plan. This could be anywhere from helping with a marketing plan to identifying operational versus variable costs for their business. Or you may be writing a grant. In general, you will be interacting with your community, learning the culture and language, and working on self-directed projects with community partners.
