Former Video Production Intern at Voice of America
over 1 year ago
Each morning when I arrived at the office I would be assigned a desk for the day. The desks corresponded to different daily video products, so there was one for Africa, Asia, the Americas, and world news. Once I was assigned a desk I would research headlines for that region using a database of news providers such as Reuters, AP, etc; and determine which news items were important enough to report in our videos. Once I decided on five items I would write short captions describing the news event and collect footage about the event. I would send these to an editor, and once they were approved I would compile the footage and headlines into a one-minute news video for that desk. After my supervisors approved it, I would post these videos to VOA's social media and file them for broadcast for certain desks.
