Former Script Intern at The Chew at Disney ABC Television Group
over 1 year ago
I would have to be in by 7 AM twice a week (possibly 3 times depending on if there is one or two Script interns). I would then collect all the executive producer’s binders that contain all the information they need for the show. I would put them out on chairs in the audience section of the studio where they would take them once they got in. I would then need to write down all the different segments for the day by looking at the script. Then I would hang it up right where the script coordinator could see it in the control room. I would then wait on set while rehearsals were going on until the audience was loaded into the studio. I would then report to the control room where I would assist the script coordinator with anything she needed including copying script changes and distributing it out to the EPs, Director, Sound Coordinator, etc. (it was usually around 10 people). A lot of the time during shooting of the episode, I would just remain in the control room and perform any necessary tasks for the script coordinator. After filming, I would collect the EPs binders and empty them out, returning any needed papers to the EPs assistant(s). After I would take the script bin and put all the binders in it then transport it to the office via shuttle or walking.
