I worked from noon-9, which was definitely a new experience. I would arrive at work, get some coffee and wait to be assigned stories to edit, or work on stories that had been updated recently. I would generally receive a few stories to copy edit, and then I had to see if those stories were going to be printed If so, I had to wait for the design team to place the headlines and deks on the page so that I could write a headline that was both accurate and fit in the allotted space. Though I wasn't a fact checker, I was encourage to look up any names or information I was unfamiliar with and report and mistakes.
