Former Economics Research Assistant at Oakland University
almost 2 years ago
Make sure you are able to relate your career goals and academic interests to the type of work that is associated with the position. For instance, I am not an economics major, but I am keenly interested in the economic development of Metro Detroit, so work primarily focused on Metro Detroit's economy was a good fit for my interests. In these types of research positions, it is equally important to have an interest in the material and to have the skills necessary in the role.
