To prepare for an interview, begin by reviewing the school's website. Look for their mission and vision statements, extra-curricular activities, and programs they use and/or offer. Familiarize yourself with the school and begin to determine how you could fit within the existing school structure as well as what you can bring to the school. Also, be prepared to state why you chose the school and be specific.
Secondly, prepare any lessons or materials you want to highlight. If this is your first teaching job that you are applying to, having a copy of your final/capstone project can be helpful and relevant.
Last, as with any interview, practice! You will likely be nervous so make sure you practice with a friend, in the mirror, or record yourself. Make sure to have your personality shine!
