Former Business Intelligence & Reporting Analysis Intern at Southwest Airlines

Upper management is extremely supportive at Southwest Airlines. In my experience in Quality Assurance, all my higher-ups had regular check ins to see my progress and provide feedback. They also introduced me to teams I was curious about and provided me with resources to pick up technical skills. They made the work environment very fun and collaborative.

It would depend on the department, but on my team the managers were very positive and involved me in any and all activities. Some days might be slow, but you can always find something to do just by talking to one of your managers. Just talking to them alone will show them you're interested and you can learn a lot about the airline, the industry and any future prospects at the company. They are very supportive, they understand you're and intern and a human person with imperfections and don't expect you to be perfect from day one. They'll make you feel very welcome. Never hesitate to double check anything or ask a question, they'll be happy to help.
