BAE in general is a great place to kickstart your career because they try to mentor you along for a long career with them
Heading into any position with BAE, know what you want to get out of the position, not just short term but in the long haul

BAE is a great employer, however within the imagery analysis field it is not the easiest place to kick-start a career. The easiest method would be undergoing military intelligence analaysis training and while in the service pursuing a degree in geospatial science. That would be the best way to move forward.
BAE Systems has been an excellent place for me to kickstart a career through the FLDP because it provided me with a structural support system of people, both mentors and current participants, training, and three distinct roles that provided a variety of experiences and opportunities. I think the most important aspect for me has been the trust and responsibility placed on participants in this program. Just this coming week I will be presenting the results of an assessment that was requested by the CFO of the company which leapfrogs off of an earlier project that myself and other FLDPs had undertaken at his request. At the same time I am currently mentoring a summer intern, and reverse mentoring a senior executive. All of these responsibilities are outside of my normal day job, which also is a role of significant impact and responsibility which I am grateful to have been entrusted with, but I mention it all to underscore the way the company looks to new employees that come through the FLDP to step up. They are willing to challenge us, hear from us, and expect us to make an impact rapidly in our young careers, which is exactly what someone entering the workforce should be looking for the opportunity to do.
