Training for an FLDP is integrated throughout the 3 year rotational process. In the area of technical skills, the progression begins with core building blocks of financial analysis in the business model in the aerospace and defense contracting industry. We recognize that there is gap to fill between what students learned in their undergraduate business classes and the specific application of those principles to our industry. Over the 3 years technical skills trainings gradually broaden the business acumen of participants as they learn how to integrate the many dimensions of corporate finance to maximize their value as full business partners. There is also a continued focus on soft skills including topics such as having difficult conversations, presentation training, understanding learning styles, providing effective feedback, and much more. A full week training conference in the DC area each year provides an immersive experience that significantly shaped my growth as a leader in conjunction with the regular training programming throughout the years. I can confidently say that I am extremely proud when I reflect on my personal and professional growth as a leader that the FLDP provided me.
