In regards to the qualities and experiences an FLDP candidate should be able to speak to, it perhaps goes without saying that the "L", which stands for "leadership" is really the distinguishing characteristic a candidate can exhibit. To me what demonstrating leadership means is the candidate's ability to demonstrate awareness and problem recognition skills that spurred them to action and successfully quantify the impact of their actions. The vast majority of candidates are able to list leadership roles and responsibilities, but what is important to me is the candidate's ability to speak to why their execution of the roles and responsibilities of that office/position/etc. was unique from those who had it before, and those who will have it in the future. At the end of the day, what a successful candidate leaves us with is a firm imprint on our minds of that candidate's character. I want to be able to picture myself wanting to work with and even for that candidate.
