Your Aerospace Engineering coursework will definitely be handy but no worries if you are unfamiliar with a topic. What you do not know will be taught to you. For my position as a Structural Engineer intern, I had to apply my knowledge from Mechanics of Materials and other structures classes. Whether it was hand calculations or finite element analysis, having a strong background in my position really helped me. From my coursework, however, I was taught more theory than actual Aerospace applications. So, it was nice to see everything come together during my experience in order to see how the Aerospace industry really is.
