Former Aerospace Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney
almost 2 years ago
Depending on the position you received, you might be working in an office setting or even down on the shop floor. Regardless, every intern gets assigned a mentor or several mentors that will be by his or her side throughout the internship. The great thing about being a Pratt & Whitney intern is that you are not given "typical" intern work. Instead, you are submerged into on-going or even new projects where you do all the work a Pratt & Whitney engineer does. Interns also get the chance to participate in meetings (regarding your project) with engineers all across different locations and branches in Pratt & Whitney. Without a doubt, when you walk into work in the morning, you will learn something new by the end of the day. Socially, you are constantly making new friends and connections. Pratt & Whitney is really good at getting interns to make connections with other interns and fellow engineers by hosting events (i.e. bowling, happy hour, food truck night, etc.).
