To begin, you look at the assignment sheet to see which "pod" you will be working on. There are 2 CNA's to each "pod" and each "pod" has around 20 residents. You are responsible for your half of the pod and at times just work together to complete to full assignment as a partnership. You have to get all of your residents up for breakfast by approx. 8am and for those who do not want to be up that early you just assist with morning ADL's like using the bathroom, cleaning up, brushing teeth, and changing- then ensure their breakfast is brought to their room. After the residents are up and fed you begin rounding for bathroom needs and complete any baths on your schedule and before you know it, it is time for lunch. After feeding for lunch, you are to lay down any patients that are listed to be out of their wheelchair after lunch and do toileting rounding once more before your shift is over. Obviously, throughout all of this or minimally by the end of your shift all charting needs to be complete.
