During the summer, the hours were fairly unpredictable. Most of the time you don't know your schedule more than a day ahead of time. Makes it difficult to plan anything, but it also allows for everyday to be a unique journey.
Whether I worked at night, morning, evening, I would show up to Vine's office in Commerce City. I would clock in, grab a work truck, and grab any gear I would need to test concrete and/or soil. Most of the time I worked at the airport, so I would drive to the airport and obtain the materials testing schedule for the construction company.
I would then drive to the testing location, and depending how many tests were needed, would work an hour to 12 hours testing concrete.
After the testing on site was completed, I would drive back to Vine's office and log in any samples into the computer system, clock out, and leave.
DISCLAIMER: Although this was my schedule for a lot of the days, there are plenty days when you show up thinking you'll be doing one thing only to find out you have to go to a different location to test somewhere else. I liked the unpredictability.
