3rd Grade Team Leader/ Instructional Coach at Kuumba Academy Charter School

In order to prepare for a successful interview for this position I would first conduct research on the school itself. When researching the school, take note of the charter’s mission statement and assess how you feel that aligns with your own mission and beliefs as an educator. Next, I would look into the different curriculum resources and courses taught at the school for you level. You should familiarIze yourself with how the curriculum addresses the common core state standards for the grade level which you are applying to teach. When thinking about how to use the curriculum in order to meet students needs and guide them toward mastery of the standards, consider how you will collect and analyze data (formative, exit tickets, checklists, summative, etc). Creating a mock up or showing the interview panel how you collect data and use it to drive your everyday instruction will highlight how you can be an asset to the team. I would reflect on how you prepare to meet a wide range. And variety of academic as well as socio-emotional needs while providing rigorous and differentiated instruction and be prepared to speak to how you would do this. This school cares deeply about relationships with students and families and closing the achievement gap- how can you be an asset to the instructional team in accomplishing these goals?
