In order to be successful as a tax intern at GrantThornton you will need to be organized, communicate well, and have an eagerness to learn more about the accounting profession. On the technical side a successful intern should have a good understanding of excel, how to research tax issues, and how to write in a business professional tone.
It is very important to have good interpersonal skills, especially listening and retaining information well. Your supervisor will expect you to always bring a pen and notepad whenever you have a new task or are asking questions. That way, you can always refer back to your notes so that you don’t repeat the same questions (a big no-no!)
